A trio of Chief Executives backed by private equity firm NorthEdge Capital have been named as regional finalists in EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year UK Awards 2016.
Carl Cavers, CEO of video game specialist Sumo Digital, Anita Kenyon, CEO of decorative home product designer Arthouse, and Matt Hirst, CEO of leading data management and services business Utiligroup, have made the final cut to win the awards, which celebrate exceptional entrepreneurs with the energy, vision and passion to lead successful, dynamic businesses.
These nominations represent a major achievement for NorthEdge, which is the only private equity firm to claim three finalists in the prestigious awards from the North of England.
The trio continue a tradition of entrepreneurial success at NorthEdge portfolio companies. Gareth Mobley of DW3 Products Group won both the regional and national award last year, while Accrol’s Majid Hussain was crowned winner in 2013.
Winners from regional finals will proceed to vie for the title of EY Entrepreneur of the Year in the UK later this year. They will then be given the chance to represent the country at EY’s World Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in 2017.
Dan Wright, Partner, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Portfolio at NorthEdge, said: “We’re really proud to have three entrepreneurs in the running for such prestigious awards. The nominations are testament to the outstanding ability, vision and drive of our CEOs, along with NorthEdge’s ability to bring the best out of the businesses we work with.”
