NorthEdge Capital has won Private Equity Team of the Year and Public Markets Deal of the Year at the 2017 North West Rainmaker Awards, held on 15 June 2017.
NorthEdge won Venture Capital/Private Equity Team of the Year ahead of competition from ECI Partners, Equistone, LDC and Palatine Private Equity. Key deals included the backing of the MBO of Chester based, ITC Luxury Travel and investment in Liverpool-based Abbey Logistics, both in August 2016.
The firm was also won Public Markets Deal of the Year for its flotation of AIM-listed toilet and kitchen tissue manufacturer Accrol. On admission, the Blackburn-based firm had a market capitalisation of £93m, which has risen to £140m at present.
Held at the Midland Hotel in Manchester, the Awards recognise and showcase the achievements and success of business deals in the North West. Hosted by TheBusinessDesk’s North West editor Joanne Birtwistle and compered by BBC political journalist Nina Warhurst, over 250 people attended the ceremony.
Grant Berry, Managing Partner at NorthEdge Capital, said: “It is always a great honour to be recognised for the hard work and expertise of our team and, given the highly competitive nature of the corporate finance sector in the North West, these awards are especially significant. As our first exit, the Accrol deal was a landmark transaction for NorthEdge, so it is especially pleasing to see the company rewarded for its consistent growth. We have continued to invest in some of the most exciting businesses in the North, and hope to replicate that success with the strong deal flow we have in the pipeline.”
